Formed in Tokyo, Japan in 1998, Jazztronik is a group of revolving musicians led by DJ, producer, and pianist Ryota Nozaki. Jazztronik blends deep house, downtempo, future jazz, and electronica into a unique mix. Their first album, Numero Uno, was released in 1999. The group has released more than two dozen albums since their inception including Nanairo (2004), Cannibal Rock (2005), Love Tribe (2007), JTK (2009), Dig Dig Dig (2011), Cinematic (2014), Keystone (2016) and BB1 (2017). Outside of their own recordings Nozaki became the first Japanese mixing DJ to be involved with the popular Defected in the House series of remix albums. Jazztronik’s most famous single was 2004’s “SamuraI”, which really introduced Nozaki’s talents to the rest of the world. Based on the success of the single and the band, Nozaki has remixed other projects, DJ’d several festivals around the world, and did soundtrack work for Japanese television.
