Born in Vesoul in 1939, Jean-Michel Rivat owes his vocation as an author to listening to Félix Leclerc. He travels around Europe, sings a little and forms a tandem with Frank Thomas to offer his texts to numerous performers. He worked with Joe Dassin, Michel Delpech and Claude François. In the 80s, he produced Desireless and scored an international hit with "Voyage, voyage".
