Jean-Pierre Boyer

Jean-Pierre Boyer was born into a modest family on September 22, 1952 in Saint-Denis on the island of La Réunion (France). His first vocation was as a welder, which he learned first in Madagascar and then in Alsace, before working in the hospital sector in Paris. However, he never abandoned his passion for singing, which he has practiced since his late teens and continues to pursue alongside his profession. At the age of 28, he was given the opportunity to record his first single, "Ça Ti fille là". From then on, the sega singer criss-crossed France and Saturday night balls, recording and distilling new hits such as "Ti fleur fané", "Reviens, je t'aime", "Et je déteste ma jeunesse", "Loin de mon île", "Grillé pistache" and "N'attends pas qu'il ferme les yeux". He celebrates 40 years in the music business in 2021, almost a decade after moving back to La Réunion and publishing the autobiographical book De Bidonville aux Feux de la Rampe.
