Also known as "Jinwoon," Jeong Jin-woon is a K pop solo artist, actor, and member of the chart-topping boy band 2AM. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, on May 2, 1991. While still a teenager, he appeared in the music documentary Hot Blood. The show was broadcast on Mnet and introduced Japanese audiences to the young musicians who would go on to form 2AM. Jinwoon completed the group's lineup in 2008, and 2AM scored its first pair of Number 1 singles two years later. While continuing to perform with the group, Jinwoon released his first solo single, "You Walking Towards Me," in 2011. The song reached number 37 in South Korea and eventually went gold, not quite matching 2AM's commercial success but still signaling the start of a viable solo career. He also cracked the Top 10 with his contribution to the Dream High soundtrack, "Can't I Love You," which hit number 7 later that year. Jinwoon returned to the Top 10 in 2012 with "Yesterday," a collaborative single recorded alongside fellow boy band veterans L.Joe, Gikwang, Lee Joon, and Hoya. Although his musical output slowed down during the second half of the 2010s, he began landing more roles as an actor, appearing in multiple TV shows throughout the decade before making the transition to film with the 2021 horror movie Only I Can See.
