Jeremy Pelt

Born in Los Angeles, California on November 4, 1976, Jeremy Pelt is an acclaimed jazz trumpeter who has built a career as both a solo artist and in-demand session musician and sideman. He studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts before establishing himself as a member of the Mingus Big Band. Pelt then began playing with many other acclaimed jazz musicians, making his recorded debut in 1997 with saxophonist Vincent Herring on the album Change the World. He continued to work with other artists – Ralph Peterson Jr. and Lonnie Plaxico – before releasing his first solo album, Profile (2002). In the course of his career, he collaborated with some of jazz music’s biggest names including Roy Hargrove, Cassandra Wilson, Greg Osby, Cliff Barbaro, Keter Betts, Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland, Ravi Coltrane, Frank Foster, Winard Harper, Jimmy Heath, Nancy Wilson and many others. His own solo releases include Close to My Heart (2003), Identity (2005), The Talented Mr. Pelt (2011), Face Forward, Jeremy (2014), Make Noise! (2017), and Art of Intimacy Vol. 1 (2020).
