Gerald Rivera Rodriguez, who goes by Jerry Rivera, is a Latin singer from Puerto Rico who has had many singles on Billboard's Tropical Songs and Latin Songs charts and releases on the Latin Albums Chart and earned three Grammy Award nominations. Born to a musical family, he made a demo recording as a teenager that led to his debut album 'Empezando A Vivir' in 1989. He went on to place 20 releases on the Tropical Albums Chart including five that went to number one and 13 on the Top Latin Albums Chart. 'Abriendo Puertas' (1991), 'Cuenta Conmigo' (1992), 'Magia' (1995), 'Rivera' (2001) and 'Vuela Muy Alto' (2002) topped the Tropical Chart with 'Cara de Nino' (1993), 'Lo Nuevo Y Lo Mejor' (1994) and 'De Otra Manera' (1999) all making it to number two. He had 37 singles on the Tropical Songs Chart including 13 that went to number one, with 'Ese' and 'Quiero' also topping the Hot Latin Songs Chart. He has performed across the United States, Europe, South America and Japan. In July 2018, he released his first single in six years, 'Mira', with Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Yandel and announced that he would release another album. His 2019 schedule included appearances at venues in Chiclayo, Peru, and Miami, Florida.
