Inspired by the 1960s greats in their father's record collection, brothers Nic and Chris Cester plundered the classic rock annals to form the full throttle ballast of strutting, hard-riffing, rock'n'roll nostalgia that is Jet. Recruiting Cameron Thane and Mark Wilson, the lads honed into a tight unit during an extensive schedule of gigs, playing over 200 dates during 2003, including a support slot with the Rolling Stones. Propelled by the hit singles Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Rollover DJ and Cold Hard Bitch and a healthy buzz within the music press, debut album Get Born (2003) became a huge success, selling over 3.5 million copies worldwide. Follow-up albums Shine On (2006) and Shaka Rock (2009) fared poorly in comparison, with only the single Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is making a dent on the mainstream. Boozy, brash and full of rock and spirit, the band continue to maintain a reputation as a storming live act, having toured with Oasis and feature regularly on the European festival circuit.
