Jihyo

Park Ji-hyo (February 1, 1997), professionally known as Jihyo, is a South Korean singer mostly known for being the lead vocalist of the girl group Twice. Born in the city of Guri in the Gyeonggi Province, she was scouted by JYP Entertainment after she placed second in a contest on Junior Naver and became a trainee under the media giant at the age of 8. During ten years, Jihyo trained with several idols in the JYP roster, including Wonder Girls' Sunmi and Hyerim, Bae Suzy, Jo Kwon, and Nickhun. After her first girl group project got canceled, she participated in the reality show Sixteen, becoming one of the nine members of the all-female pop band Twice. In 2015, Jihyo and the rest of the group made their debut with the mini-album The Story Begins, whose lead single "Like Ooh-Ahh" became the first K-pop song to reach 100 million views on video-sharing platforms. In 2022, Jihyo kicked off her solo career with the single "Stardust Love Song," which peaked at number 6 on the Gaon charts and appeared in the soundtrack of the TV series Twenty-Five Twenty-One. Following a series of singles released as part of the Today's Webtoon and Summer Strike soundtracks later that year, Jihyo began teasing her upcoming debut EP with the single "Killin' Me Good," a dancey R&B track that charted in South Korea, Singapore, New Zealand, and the United States. Zone, her first extended play, came out in 2023 and soared to the top of South Korea's Circle Chart, also peaking at number 11 in Japan.
