Within days of the last sell-out gig of the highly-acclaimed Jim Jones Revue, singer-songwriter Jones was in the studio with his latest musical project laying down tracks for the debut album of his next sonic vision - Jim Jones and The Righteous Mind. The band's style is more sophisticated than the knockabout rock & roll bashed out by the Jim Jones Revue, and has shades of the dark, brooding menace of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. Their sound is undoubtedly Americana, but done in an unmistakeably English style. In this respect the band are not dissimilar to The Alabama 3 - they sound American but clearly aren't and whilst some elements of the music are done in a tongue-in-cheek style, the sentiment and musicianship are deadly serious. The formula works well for Jones and the band have built up a loyal following in the UK selectively playing smaller concert halls where the audience can savour the band's energy and drive. The band's EP 'Boil Yer Blood' was well received by music critics and their debut album 'Super Natural' was released in 2017 on their own label and supported by a European tour.
