A guitar prodigy since the age of four, Joe Bonamassa (born in New York State, May 8, 1977) opened for B.B. King at the age of twelve. A few years later, he formed the group Bloodline, then signed to the Epic label at the age of 22. He released A New Day Yesterday in 2000 and So It's Like That in 2002, then continued in the blues-rock vein with the covers on Blues Deluxe (2003). His seventh album, The Ballad of John Henry, was released in 2009. On Black Rock, released in 2010, B. B. King himself lends a hand to one of the finest guitarists of his generation. Between two triumphant tours, the Black Country Communion supergroup album is released. In 2011, Joe Bonamassa enjoyed another runaway success with Dust Bowl, and released an album of soulful covers with singer Beth Hart. After these interludes, the guitarist returned to his original blues-rock style on Driving Towards the Daylight in 2012. Joe Bonamassa courts Beth Hart again with Seesaw in 2013. The tour that followed resulted in the release of four live albums recorded in London (Hammersmith Apollo, The Borderline, Shepherd's Bush Empire and Royal Albert Hall). The guitarist concludes 2014 with the album Different Shades of Blue. Keen to bear witness to his on-stage creativity on record, he delivered two new live albums in 2015 before returning to the studio for Blues of Desperation (2016). After a new collaboration with Beth Hart on Black Coffee and another live recording, British Blues Explosion Live, 2018 is rounded off by a thirteenth solo album entitled Redemption. Honored with a Blues Music Award in 2015, the New Yorker made his debut three years later in the temple of country music, Nashville's Grand Ole Opry. He also performs at the Sydney Opera House, whose performance is the subject of a record. Twenty years after the release of his first album, he re-recorded it under the title Any Day Now (2020). The same year, the prolific guitarist delivers the original album Royal Tea, recorded in London at Abbey Road Studios.
