Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1995, Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott found fame under the pseudonym Joey Bada$$ as part of the Pro Era hip-hop collective. His debut release, a mix tape titled '1999', earned him critical acclaim and a place in the industry, with Complex magazine naming it the 38th best album of 2012. A second mix tape, titled 'Rejex', was released later that same year. 2014 saw him star in a short autobiographical film about his life and career. The film, directed by Rik Cordero, fulfilled his dreams of being an actor. After this came the release of 'B4.DA.$$', his debut full-length album. In 2015 he made his television debut in the psychological crime thriller series 'Mr. Robot' alongside Rami Malek. He continues his music however and released his second album 'All-Amerikkkan Bada$$' in 2017.
