Formed in 1996, Massachusett's best known white reggae band have established themselves as a credible force on the international reggae scene. Their first album All Time was released on their own label and made it into Rolling Stone magazine's Top Ten Indie list. From this promising beginning the band recorded eleven studio albums to their credit and have worked up a loyal fan base. Having started out as a pure reggae/dub band a change of direction followed the departure of vocalist and guitarist Kevin Kinsella in 2006. Kinsella had been the main protagonist behind the group's pure reggae sound and after he left the band entered a more experimental phase. Vocalist Elliott Martin began to introduce contemporay influences such as hip-hop into the music. The new sound brought with it wider commercial success and in 2008 the band released the album Amplify which went straight to number one in the Billboard Reggae Chart. A US tour followed by a European tour firmly established the band as an international act and brought more commercial success. The 2016 album Fireflies also debuted at number one in the Reggae Charts. The band's music continues to evolve, helped by a fluid roster of personnel constantly bringing in fresh musical influences.
