Clarinetist, saxophonist and composer, American John Zorn is a key figure in the world's avant-garde music scene. While some of his work (notably his reinterpretation of the works of Italian film composer Ennio Morricone) has been acclaimed by press and public alike, his uncompromising attitude, his desire to embrace all styles - from punk to jazz to the Klezmer tradition - and his sometimes toe-curling approach to music, have denied him widespread popular recognition.
