Born into a family of musicians, American Jon Brion is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, on December 11, 1963. If his personal career with the bands The Bats and The Grays leaves little to remember, the same cannot be said of his career as a producer. Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright, Fiona Apple, Brad Mehldau, Kanye West and Of Montreal don't call on him by chance. After becoming a film composer in 1999 with Magnolia, Jon Brion released his solo album Meaningless in 2001. Jon Brion continues to shine in film with Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), ParaNorman and This Is 40 both in 2012. Twice nominated for a Grammy Award, the regular collaborator of Paul Thomas Anderson in his early days signed an animated film score with The Blue Umbrella (2013) and collaborated with other directors on Delivery Man (2013), The Gambler (2014), Trainwreck (2015), Curmudgeons (2016) and Wilson (2017). After his contribution to Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird in 2017, he began a new collaboration with French director Gilles Lellouche for Le Grand Bain (2018), followed by L'Amour ouf (2024). At the same time, he continues his work as a producer for Tim McGraw, Sarah Brightman, Beyoncé, Janelle Monae, Mac Miller, Bruce Springsteen and Jenny Lewis.
