Josh Ostrander

Mondo Cozmo – born Josh Keith Ostrander on April 8, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – is a singer, songwriter, musician, and producer now based in Los Angeles, California. As Josh Ostrander, he first rose to prominence in 2000 as the leader of alt-rock band Laguardia. The band released one album – Welcome to the Middle (2003) – before splitting up in 2005. The year that Laguardia split up, Ostrander and former bandmate Greg Lyons then formed the band Eastern Conference Champions. They issued their first EP, The Southampton Collection, in 2006. Over the next nine years, ECC relocated to Los Angeles and released three albums – Ameritown (2007), Speak-Ahh (2011), and Love in Wartime (2015) – and numerous singles before breaking up in 2015. After the band’s split, Ostrander began working under the name Mondo Cozmo in 2016. His first release was the single “Shine”, which rose to Number 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs chart in early 2017. He followed that up with the album Plastic Soul. Two years later followed the album New Medicine, with the single “Upside Down”, ranked Number 31 in the same US AAA Chart in 2020. Retreated to the mountains near Lake Arrowhead, California, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Ostrander also recorded This Is for the Barbarians (2022), exploring themes of human connection and resilience. Next album It's PRINCIPLE!, produced by Mark Rankin, followed in 2024 via Last Gang Records.
