Born on December 18, 1977 in Sydney, New South Wales, Josh Pyke is a best-selling singer-songwriter, music producer and children's book author who can count six ARIA Top 10 albums among his achievements. First developing a taste for music while at school, he played guitar and made music under various guises in the early '00s, before signing to Australian indie label Ivy League Records in 2005 and releasing his first EP as Josh Pyke, Feeding the Wolves. His debut studio album, Memories & Dust, arrived in March 2007 and cast him as a whimsical singer-songwriter with a tendency for alt-folk and indie-rock. The album went to Number 4 in Australia and was nominated for five awards at the ARIA Music Awards of 2007, while also being certified platinum in 2020. He travelled even higher up the charts with his follow-up album, Chimney's Afire (2008), which went to Number 3 in Australia. He went on to score another four Top 10 LPs in a row, including fifth studio album, But for All These Shrinking Hearts (2015), which marked Josh Pyke's first offering for new label Wonderlick Entertainment and gave him a Number 2 position on the ARIA Charts. He released his first greatest hits album, The Best of Josh Pyke, in 2017 and in 2019 made his foray into children's literature with his first book, Lights Out, Leonard. His sixth studio album, To Find Happiness, came out in March 2022.
