Juan Carlos Hurtado

Juan Carlos Hurtado, known as "El Andariego," is a Colombian singer, musician, and songwriter born on March 20, 1968, in the Alto de San Francisco area of Santander de Quilichao, Cauca. From an early age, Hurtado was immersed in music, influenced by his amateur musician father. At 18, he moved to Cali, where he began his musical career by forming a duo that gained attention on local radio stations, helping him refine his skills. In 1988, he released his debut album De trago en trago, featuring the hit song that earned him the nickname "El Andariego." Over his more than 35-year career, Juan Carlos Hurtado has released nearly twenty albums, becoming a prominent figure in Colombian popular music, particularly in the ranchera genre. His songs, such as "La puerta está abierta," "Borracho la embarré," "El amor no tiene edad," and "Un nuevo amor" reflect themes of love and heartbreak, resonating deeply with audiences across Colombia and beyond. In 2023, he featured on the single "Desilusión" by singer Freddy Burbano. This collaboration was followed by the release of the album A Mis Años in 2024.
