Fronted by chart-topping singer/songwriter Juan Karlos Labajo, Juan Karlos is a Filipino rock band best known for its award-winning single "Buwan." Before forming the band in 2017 in Manila, Philippines, Juan Karlos Labajo grew up in Consolacion, Cebu. At 13 years old, he participated in the first season of the TV show The Voice Kids and finished the competition in third place. Labajo quickly launched a solo career after leaving the show, scoring three Number 1 hits in the Philippines — "Para Sa'Yo," "'Di Ka Man Lang Nagpaalam," and "Summer Time Love" — with his 2015 debut, JK. The album quickly went gold and was followed by a second release, JKL, in 2017. Later that year, Labajo formed Juan Karlos with lead guitarist Jeriko Aguilar, bassist Louise Bayas, and drummer Gian Hipolito. The band debuted with 2018 "Demonyo (Redefined)," which reached Number 3 on the Pinoy MYX Countdown chart and Number 5 on the MYX Hit Chart. Later that summer, the band climbed to Number 1 with "Buwan," which won "Song of the Year" at the 2019 Myx Music Awards and four additional awards — including "Best Rock/Alternative Recording" and "People's Voice Favorite Record of the Year" — and the Awit Awards. The debut album Diwa was released in 2020, followed in 2022 by an EP, Drop 1, and another radio hit, "Kunwari."
