Juan Solo

Juan Solo, born Juan Alberto Solís Cosío on November 4, 1983, in Puebla, Mexico, is a versatile Latin pop singer, songwriter, and musician. He began his artistic journey at 18, performing in musical theater productions like Godspell and Fame in Puebla, which set the stage for his music career. A graduate in music production from the Universidad de la Música G. Martell, Juan Solo further honed his craft through the first generation of the Composition Workshop at the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico. Over the years, he has captivated audiences with performances at prestigious venues like the Lunario del Auditorio Nacional, Teatro Metropólitan, and Plaza Condesa in Mexico City, as well as internationally in Spain, Colombia, Chile, and the United States. His songwriting talent has earned him accolades, including two Ariel Awards for his work on the soundtrack of La leyenda de Nahuala and the Silver Seagull Award for "Extranjera" at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in 2012. That year, Juan Solo released his debut EP @SoyJuanSolo, which featured popular tracks such as "Extranjera," "Querido Corazón," and "Amnesia." In 2013, he was nominated for Best New Artist at the Premios OYE, and in 2015, he starred in the musical Hoy no me puedo levantar. His single "Contigo puedo ser quien soy" from his debut album Ni Solo Ni Mal Acompañado (2014) topped streaming sales and ranked fifth on Radio Disney's national chart, further solidifying his place in the Latin pop scene. In 2020, he released the acoustic single "No rompo tus fotos," a collaboration with Chilean singer Denise Rosenthal, showcasing his continual evolution as an artist. The single was included in his 2021 second studio album M.A.S.O.Q.U.I.S.T.A., followed by MALQUERIDO in 2023.
