Canadian Julie Doiron made her debut at the age of eighteen with the rock band Eric's Trip in 1990. Six years later, she embarked on a solo career, collaborating on various projects for the Sub Pop and Jagjaguwar labels. A songwriter, guitarist and singer, she also designs the covers of her albums, including Julie Doiron and the Wooden Stars in 1999, the French-language Désormais in 2001 and I Can Wonder What You Did with Your Day in 2009.
