Kaash Paige ('Kaash' being an acronym for 'Kill All Arrogance, Stop Hatred') is a young Texan R&B artist who peppers her songs with lyrics about queer relationships. Paige was first exposed to music-making by her father; when she was young he had a closet studio he would use to produce and engineer, with beats leaking out and piquing Paige's curiosity. Her father encouraged her to start making music on her own and she went through fits and starts of musical creativity. As she got older, however, her interest in making music cemented into a desire to do it for a living. Making music in her dad's closet turned into making music in her own dorm room and she began gaining traction on Soundcloud with the lo-fi R&B track 'Dnd'. Her next single 'Love Songs', however, was the one that blew up, grabbing millions of streams and leading to 'WYCA' and 'Happy Song'. In 2019 Paige took things a step further and released her debut EP, 'Parked Car Convos', a record aimed at recreating the intimacy of late-night one-on-one conversations.
