Kacy Hill is an American singer-songwriter born on May 1, 1994, in Phoenix, Arizona. Raised in a musical household, she learned how to play instruments like the oboe and the saxophone before joining her school choir. She gained initial fame as a model and became the face of American Apparel but soon transitioned to music. Her career took a significant leap when she joined Kanye West's Yeezus tour as a backup dancer in 2013. This experience opened doors in the music industry, leading to her being signed to GOOD Music, Kanye West's record label, in 2014. Her debut single, "Experience," released the same year, caught the attention of numerous media outlets and provided some much-needed exposure. In 2015, Kacy Hill unveiled her first EP, Bloo, which blurred the lines between dream pop and alternative R&B. Her studio debut, Like a Woman, came out in 2017. This album, featuring a mix of emotional depth and electronic beats, received critical acclaim and solidified her position in the music world. Following her departure from GOOD Music in 2019, Kacy Hill started releasing music independently, starting with 2020's Is It Selfish If We Talk About Me Again. The album marked her debut as a producer and featured frequent collaborators Francis and the Lights, BJ Burton, and Jim E-Stack. Preceded by the singles "Seasons Bloom" and "Easy Going," her third full-length album Simple, Sweet, and Smiling came out in 2021 and found the singer-songwriter delivering some of the most personal songs in her catalog, opening up about her issues while maintaining a positive outlook on life.
