Kaer Azami – born Wan Mohammad Khair Wan Azami Hamzah August 30, 1985, in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – is a singer, songwriter, and producer who also had a successful career as a fashion designer. Originally interested in art, he won many competitions while attending elementary and high school. However, he began to pursue music as a career and first came to prominence in 2004 as a contestant on the second season of the televised Malaysian talent show Akademi Fantasia, where he came in sixth place. In 2007, Kaer Azami released his debut album, Menjelma, which featured the Number 1 single “Izinku Pergi.” The single won the Best Song award at Anugerah Industri Muzik Malaysia, where he was also nominated in the Best New Singer, Best Pop Album, and Best Male Vocal categories. He released his second album, Unique, in 2009, the same year he began pursuing a degree in Retail Business. Three years after the release of his second album, Kaer Azami returned with his third album, A New Chapter. However, his change of musical direction saw him embracing a more urban sound, and the album was not as successful as his previous releases. With several fashion lines to his name, he switched focus from his music career and embraced a second career as a fashion designer. Not giving up on his music career, Kaer Azami has released several singles over the years including “Andai” (2014) and the Number 1 duet “Tak Pernah Hilang” featuring Amylea Azizan (2018).
