Encarnita García de Jesús, who goes by the name Kany Garcia, is a Latin pop singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico who first garnered attention when she appeared on the local television talent show 'Objetivo Fama' in 2004. She made her recording debut in 2007 with the album 'Cualquier Dia', which went to number ten on Billboard's Latin Pop Albums chart and number 48 on the Top Latin Albums chart. She won the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist and the recording was nominated for Album of the Year and won as Best Female Pop Vocal Album. The track 'Hoy Ya Me Voy' was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Song of the Year and reached number four on the Latin Pop Songs chart, 'Esta Soledade' peaked at number six and 'Estigma De Amor' number 15. 'Boleto De Entrada' (2009), which was nominated for a Grammy Award as Best Latin Pop Album and for a Latin Grammy Award as Best Female Pop Vocal Album, reached number three on the Latin Pop Albums chart and number six on the Top Latin Albums chart. The track 'Feliz' went to number four on the Latin Pop Songs chart and 'Esta Vida Tuya y Mia' hit number 14. 'Kany Garcia' (2012) was nominated for Best Singer-Songwriter Album in the Latin Grammy Awards and won for Best Engineered Album. It was also nominated as Best Latin Pop Album at the Grammy Awards. It topped the Latin Pop Albums chart and reached number five on the Top Latin Albums chart. The track 'Alguien' peaked at number eight on the Latin Pop Songs chart. 'Kany Garcia: En Vivo' (2014) went to number three on the Latin Pop Albums chart and number four on the Top Latin Albums chart. 'Limonado' (2016) topped both charts and 'Soy Yo' (2018), which was nominated for Latin Grammy Awards as Record of the Year and Song of the Year, hit number two on the Latin Pop Albums chart and number four on the Top Latin Albums chart. Her single 'Quedate' with Tommy Torres went to number 18 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart upon its release in March 2019. It appears on her album 'Contra el Viento', which came out in May. Her 2019 schedule was to include appearances at venues in Bogota, Colombia and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
