KEG

KEG are a dynamic UK-based post-punk ensemble renowned for their eclectic sound, energetic live performances, and distinctive seven-member lineup. Originating from Brighton, the band comprises vocalist Albert Haddenham, guitarists Jules Gibbons and Frank Lindsay, bassist Joel Whitaker, keyboardist Will Wiffen, trombonist Charlie Keen, and drummer Johnny Pyke. Despite their association with Brighton, KEG's activities are primarily centered in London, where the members converged after individual journeys from various parts of the UK. Formed in 2019, KEG quickly gained attention with their debut EP, Assembly, released in October 2021. This 17-minute collection showcased their ability to blend post-punk, jazz, and math-rock influences, delivering a sound that was both chaotic and captivating. In September 2022, KEG released their second EP, Girders, which further expanded their musical horizons. The five-track record delved into themes of unease and paranoia, incorporating experimental elements and unconventional soundscapes. March 2025 saw the release of their debut full-length album, Fun's Over, via Alcopop! Records. The album presented a more vulnerable side of the band, intertwining chaotic synths, trombone, and intricate guitar work. Tracks like "Photo Day" and "Skybather" exemplify their growth, blending humor with poignant observations.
