Keith Richards was born on December 18, 1943 in Dartford, Kent (UK). Known for his antics, which greatly contributed to the reputation of The Rolling Stones, which he joined in 1962, he is even better known for the guitar riffing on which the band's music is based. These two aspects of his character helped make the composer of "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" one of the great rebel figures in rock history, alongside his lifelong partner Mick Jagger. His greatest hits include "Get Off My Cloud" (1965), " Jumpin' Jack Flash", "Sympathy for the Devil", "Brown Sugar" and" Start Me Up" (1981), all sown in his own recognizable style, inherited from his idol Chuck Berry, whom he accompanied in the film Hail! Hail! Rock'n'Roll in 1987. A master of both cool and off-beat, Keith Richards has always eschewed guitar heroics in favor of the textures and rhythms for which he is renowned. Author of three studio albums with his band The X-Pensive Winos, Talk Is Cheap (1988), Main Offender (1992) and Crosseyed Heart (2015), he published his memoirs Life in 2010. American magazine ranks him as the 4th best guitarist of all time.
