Born in California and based in New York, singer Kendra Morris has always listened to soul music. After an ill-fated attempt at a girl group in 2003, she released two self-produced debut EPs, This Won't Hurt A Bit (2007) and Milk And Cookies Never Lie (2008). In 2012, Kendra Morris released the album Banshee on Wax Poetics Records. The album went unnoticed in the United States, despite its neo-soul tone, which was very popular at the time. The singer returned in summer 2013 with the covers album Mockingbird . Meanwhile, Europe and France became infatuated with the song "Concrete Wave" , remixed by DJ Premier. Banshee was released in Europe in January 2014, and Kendra Morris embarked on her first tour there.
