Kent

Singer and leader of the band Starshooter under the name Kent Hutchinson at the height of the punk era, Hervé Despesse aka Kent (born in Lyon on March 31, 1957) turned to solo singing with the album Sales Amours (1982). With his pencil or his pen, he dabbles in comic strips, novels and children's literature, and writes songs for himself or others ("Quelqu'un de bien" for Enzo Enzo). Away from trends, Kent recorded a series of albums halfway between rock and chanson, without necessarily seeking success. These included Le Mur du Son (1987), À Nos Amours (1990), Tous les Hommes (1991), D'un Autre Occident (1993) and Nouba (1996), separated by tours. In 1996, he appeared in Diane Bertrand's film Un samedi sur la terre, before publishing his second novel Un été pourri the following year. A series of albums followed: Métropolitain (1998), Enfin Seuls! (1999) with Enzo Enzo and, in the 2000s: Cyclone (2000), Je Ne Suis Qu'une Chanson (2002), Bienvenue au Club (featuring duets with La Grande Sophie, Laurent Voulzy, -M-, Mickey 3D, 2005) and L'Homme de Mars (with book and comic, 2008). The Panorama anthology (2009) was followed by Made in China (recorded live, 2011), Le Temps des Âmes (2013) and his fifteenth studio album La Grande Illusion (2017). A complete set of his albums from 1982 to 2013 was released in 2015.
