Dublin-born and boundary-blurring Irish-Libyan rapper KhakiKid, real name Abdu Huss, is one of the freshest voices in Irish hip-hop. Known for his slick wordplay, dreamy beats, and off-kilter charm, he’s not your typical rapper—and that’s exactly the point. Drawing from jazz, neo-soul, lo-fi, and old-school rap, his sound feels like a hazy summer afternoon wrapped in 808s and inside jokes. Since dropping onto the scene with tracks like “Cozy” (2021) and his Sports & Tattoos EP (2022), KhakiKid has carved out a lane all his own—one where vulnerability meets swagger, and Irish wit rides over mellow, genre-fluid production. Backed by his creative collective Soft Boy Forever, he’s part of a new wave of artists flipping the script on what hip-hop looks and sounds like in Ireland. In 2025, he landed a spot on the Official Irish Singles chart with the "Date Nite" single from his Moanbag EP.
