Kim Appleby

Kim Lorraine Appleby was born on August 28, 1961 in Stoke Newington, England, to a Jamaican father and a British mother. After a difficult childhood marked by the painful separation of her parents, she and her sister Melanie were quickly spotted by the legendary Stock Aitken and Waterman production team, already responsible for the success of such colts as Jason Donovan, Rick Astley and Kylie Minogue. Together, they scored a string of dance hits in the 80s, but the story came to a tragic end when Melanie died of cancer in 1990. Kimberly embarked on a solo career with the support of her partner, ex-Bros bassist Craig Logan. Two years later, she released an album of the same name, which enjoyed great success thanks to the track "Don't Worry". The following album, Breakaway, released in 1993, unfortunately failed to live up to expectations, but this did not stop Kim Appleby from pursuing her career, releasing numerous singles.
