Kim Bo Kyung (May 16, 1990) is a South Korean singer-songwriter from Anas, in the South Chungcheong Province. She jumped to fame after her participation in the reality music contest Superstar K2. Besides showcasing her talents, the show exposed Kim Bo Kyung to a nationwide audience, setting the stage for her debut single “Because of You” in 2010. In the following years, she released the mini-albums The First Day (2011) and GroWing (2011), which were followed by her proper studio debut Rockin’. Released in 2012, the album earned her award for New Artist of the Year at the 1st Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards. Throughout her career, she has also contributed to numerous movie soundtracks, including 2011’s City Hunter (“Suddenly”), 2013’s School (“Don’t Think You’re Alone”), 2014’s Three Days (“Calling You”), and 2015’s Pinocchio (“Only One for You”). Throughout the rest of the decade, Kim Bo Kyung remained at the forefront of the K-Pop scene with the EP I’m Neon (2016), and the digital singles “Shiny” (2017), “Night Cherry Blossom” (2018), and A Parting Storm (2019), a duet with singer Jeonghan.
