K-Maro

Born Cyril Kamar on January 31, 1980 in Beirut (Lebanon), K-Maro is a Quebec rapper. He moved to Montreal (Canada) at the age of 10. He formed his first rap group, LMDS, at the age of 15. He released his first album, I Am À l'Ancienne, in 2002. The following year, he founded his first label under the name K.Pone.Inc, where he produced a number of artists, including Shy'm and Imposs. 2004 saw the release of his second opus, La Good Life, with the song "Femme Like You " reaching number one on Quebec radio, and winning the NRJ Music Award for the track. The album sold over a million copies worldwide in its first year. This was followed in 2005 by Million Dollar Boy , and in 2006 by Platinum Remixes , celebrating 10 years in the music business. The same year, he embarked on the K-Maro Tour, which took him to Belgium, France, Monaco and Switzerland. K-Maro presents an English-language album in 2008, entitled Perfect Stranger. In 2010, he released a Canadian-only album called 01.10, and became general manager of the Ambitious Boys Club label at Warner Music France. In 2013, he founded a new label called East 47th Music at Universal Music. In December 2019, he publishes the compilation Demain C'Est Loin, as well as releasing a single of the same name, which is followed by an anniversary concert where he performs in Paris (France), as well as Montreal (Canada).
