Korpiklaani is a folk metal band from Lahti, Finland, founded in 2003. The band's music is strongly influenced by traditional folk music. The band has enjoyed major success, especially internationally. The first albums Spirit of the Forest (2003), Voice of Wilderness (2005) and Tales Along This Road (2006) were largely unsuccessful. A performance at the Wacken Open Air in 2006 increased the band's popularity. The next album, Tervaskanto, made it into the Finnish (number 36) and German charts (number 85) in 2007. After that, Korpiklaani regularly made it into the charts. The album Ukon wacka (2011) made it into the Finnish Top 10 at number 9 and also achieved chart success in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The band gains a solid fan base in Europe. In 2021, the album Jylhä reaches number 6 in Finland. Korpiklaani's twelfth studio album, Rankarumpu, is released in April 2024.
