Krys

Real name Pédro Pirbakas, French dancehall singer Krys was born in Abymes, Guadeloupe, on October 18, 1983. A member of the Black Micky Crew when he was just fifteen, he studied business in Montpellier, while producing his debut album Limé Mic-La (2005), released on Kickilla Records. Selling 3,000 copies, it launched the career of Krys, who followed up with K-Rysmatik (2006) and his biggest hit,"Dangereuse", which reached number 31 in the French SNEP chart. In 2007, he followed this up with the mixtape Renaissance, and in 2010 with the album Step Out, named after his production company. Colonel Reyel invited him to join his project in 2011, and together they produced the track"Dis-moi oui", which met with some success, now racking up 19 million views on YouTube. Although he suffered setbacks due to his Creole lyrics, Krys bounced back with albums Dancehall Is Back (2014) and 7K (2016). In 2024, he enjoyed a successful comeback with the track"God Bless (Ah la vie qu'on mène)", ranked number 1 in the French overseas chart.
