American country-pop singer, Sheena Leeann Thompson (known professionally as Kylie Morgan) is from Newcastle, Oklahoma, U.S.A. After being gifted a guitar by her grandfather, Morgan began writing songs at the age of 12, making frequent trips to Nashville, where she collaborated with co-writers like Rob Crosby and Liz Hengber, before relocating there permanently at 19 years old. Mentored by Grammy-winning songwriters Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, she began releasing material under her stage name in 2017, with "The Moment" marking her official debut. Two years later, Morgan followed this with "Boys Girl" which was released by EMI Nashville, heralding several momentum-building singles throughout 2020. One of those songs, "Break Things," earned more than 5-million digital streams in five weeks, while another, "Cuss a Little," featured an appearance from country music star Walker Hayes. Her first collection of original material — the EP Love, Kylie — was released in June 2021 and one year later, the singer hit a new milestone with "Independent With You," an empowering song that went viral on social media and featured on her 2022 EP P.S. Other tracks such as the contemplative "A Few Hearts Ago" and the CMT Music Awards nominated "If He Wanted To He Would," paved the way for Morgan's first full-length album on a major record label, titled Making It Up As I Go, with the singer writing or co-writing all twelve of the record's tracks. The highly anticipated album was released on October 13, 2023.
