Kyosuke Himuro

Kyosuke Himuro (born October 7, 1960) is a legendary Japanese singer-songwriter, best known as the vocalist of BOØWY, one of Japan’s most influential rock bands. Born in Takasaki, Gunma, Himuro started his career in the early 1980s, forming BOØWY in 1982 and debuting with the album MORAL. The band gained massive popularity before disbanding in 1988. Shortly after, Himuro launched his solo career with the hit single "ANGEL"(1988), achieving immediate success. Throughout his solo career, Himuro released numerous chart-topping albums and singles, including "Higher Self"(1991), and "Memories of Blue"(1993), the latter selling over a million copies. His career is marked by grand arena tours and collaborations, including with American artists. In 1997, he relocated to Los Angeles to focus on music production. In 2014, Himuro released "ONE LIFE", a single that would later become symbolic as he announced in 2014 his decision to graduate from performing due to hearing issues. Despite injuries and health struggles, he concluded his career with the LAST GIGS dome tour in 2016, attracting massive audiences. Celebrating his 60th birthday in 2020, he released his full discography on streaming platforms and continues to work on new music.
