Ladies' Code was a South Korean girl group, formed in Seoul by Polaris Entertainment in 2013. The original lineup consisted of leader Ashley, and members RiSe, EunB, Sojung, and Zuny. The group made its debut with the mini-album Code#01 and the lead track "Bad Girl" on March 7, 2013. Their digital single "Hate You" was released in August 2013, followed by their second mini-album, Code#02 Pretty Pretty later that year. Ladies' Code continued expanding its sound with the 2014 release of singles "So Wonderful" and "Kiss Kiss." A tragic car crash on September 3, 2014, resulted in the deaths of members EunB and Rise. After this devastating loss, the group's song "I'm Fine Thank You" became a tribute to the deceased members, reaching number 3 on the Gaon Singles Chart and marking their highest-charting single. They returned as a trio in February 2016 with the EP Myst3ry and its lead single "Galaxy." Later in October 2016, they released Strang3r and its title track "The Rain." Members engaged in solo activities from 2017 onwards, with Sojung releasing solo songs like "Better than Me" and "Stay Here." In December 2018, Ladies' Code released the single "The Last Holiday," and in October 2019, their album Code#3 Set Me Free marked their last group activity before leaving Polaris in February 2020 and declaring an indefinite hiatus.
