With a sound equally rooted in classic country, Southern rock, and mainstream pop music American singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson is one of the most celebrated female country musicians in recent history. A precocious talent, the Baskin, Louisiana native started writing her own songs at the age of 9 and learned how to play guitar only two years later. During her high school years, she rose to prominence as a Hannah Montana impersonator and took her tribute act on the road throughout her home state. Lainey Wilson then relocated to Nashville, where she lived in a trailer right outside a recording studio. After making the rounds in the city’s thriving music circuit, she released Tougher, her debut album, in 2016. The LP peaked at number 44 on the Country Albums chart and paved the way for a self-titled EP in 2018 and the Jay Joyce-produced Redneck Hollywood (2019), her first offering for Broken Bow Records. "Things A Man Oughta Know," the lead single off of the EP, quickly went viral and took Lainey Wilson’s career to new heights as she toured the world with the likes of Ashley McBride, Justin Moore, and Morgan Wallen. The singer’s winning streak continued in 2020 with the release of the singles "WWDD," "Rolling Stone," "Sunday Best," and "Small Town, Girl," all of which were included in her third full-length album, Sayin' What I'm Thinkin'. Despite reaching number 40 on the US country charts, the album was greatly overshadowed by her next release, 2022's Bell Bottom Country. Drawing influences from 1970s rock, funk, and soul, the LP peaked at number 9 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and won Best Country Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. This success was followed by the single "Hang Tight Honey," the first single off of her fifth studio effort Whirlwind, released in 2024.
