Lamin

Born Lamin Nørlem Samba on 16 May 1995 in Brønshøj, Denmark to a father with Gambian heritage and a Danish mother, the rapper known mononymously as Lamin has since carved out a singular sound on the country's national hip-hop scene, spearheading a self-styled movement called "The Wave." He set the wheels in motion for his career with a pair of singles in 2019—"Tiger" and "Trabajo"—before teaming up with the Danish rapper Artigrade, who is of Albanian Macedonian origin, for the "Milano Step" single. 2020 saw his first EP surface. TOUR was released on Def Jam Recordings Denmark and featured guest appearances from Artigeardit, KESI, and ICEKIID. A follow-up EP with Artigeardit called Ny Agenda emerged in 2019 before Lamin consolidated his sound on his debut album Hva ved de om Lams (2021), which packed in features from the likes of Sivas and Benny Jamz, among others. Since then, he has released two more studio albums, including 2022's breakthrough effort Kronisk Skeptisk, which went double platinum and sealed his fate as a national hip-hop hit-maker, and 2023's Nu Hvor Vi Er Her for Universal Music Denmark. In 2024, he cracked the Danish Top 40 with his single "DE HER TIMER."
