Landy Wen

Mostly recognized for her soulful blend of C-Pop and R&B, Landy Wen (July 16, 1979) is a Taiwanese singer and actress, and one of the few members of the native Atayal ethnic group to ever achieve massive success in her home country. Born in Taipei, Wen first moved with her family to Hsinchu County and then to Taichung City, where she graduated from the prestigious Youth High School. In 1997, her participation in the reality TV music competition Super Rookie King helped the young singer land a record deal with Alfa Records. She made her official debut in 1998 with the Wu Zongxian duet “Rooftop,” reaching Number 1 on the KTV charts. Sixth Sense, her first studio album, arrived in 1999 as she starred in Zongxian’s comedy Two And a Half Detectives that same year. She followed up with A Little Wild (2001), Blue Rain (2002), The Wen Effect (2004), and Love Comes Back (New + Best Selection) (2005), her first greatest hits collection. The subsequent years saw her popularity increase exponentially as she dropped the commercial blockbusters Heat Wave (2007) and Dancing Queen (2009), and appeared in the films Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale (2011) and X3 Trouble (2012). After the release of a concept album entitled Landy 10th Album (2013), Wen revamped her sound with the dancefloor-oriented stylings of Love Myself in 2015.
