Swedish singer, guitarist, and songwriter Lasse Berghagen was born Lars Berghagen in Esnkede, Sweden on May 13, 1945. He is best known for his signature song, “Teddybjörnen Fredriksson”. He was discovered at the age of 19 by record producer Curt Pettersson and released his first single, “Ensamhet”, in 1965. After several more singles, he finally achieved success with the 1969 hit “Teddybjörnen Fredriksson”. He became an extremely popular artist, performing at music festivals and on television shows while releasing a series of albums including Ding Dong (1973), Jennie, Jennie (1975), Dagboksblad (1983), Sträck ut din hand (1995), and Bara lite längtan (2011). His hit singles include “Sträck ut din hand”, “En kväll i juni”, “Stockholm i mitt hjärta”, and “Min kärlekssång till dig”. Lasse Berghagen dabbled in acting, making his first film appearance in the 1972 movie Firmafesten. Later in his career, he hosted the television show Allsång på Skansen from 1994 until 2003.
