A native of Northern Ireland, pop singer Leah McFall (born July 1, 1998) grew up performing in church and listening to a wide array of genres. While attending university in London, she began performing at local jazz clubs. Her big break came in 2013 when she competed on the second season of The Voice, where she was mentored by will.i.am. Her performance of “I Will Survive” was so well received she ended up recording the song and it became a number 8 hit in the UK, and cracked the top 40 in Ireland. She had another top 40 hit with a cover of “Killing Me Softly”, which she also performed on The Voice. She signed to will.i.am’s record label, and performed live with him. Her debut single, “Home”, came out in 2014, but within months she was dropped from the label and plans to release her debut album were scrapped. She released the 2017 EP Ink independently, and in 2019 she contributed to the book Fearfully Made, which featured Christians speaking about the fear and anxiety they have faced in public life, and how their faith helped them through those times.
