Lee Hyori is a South Korean singer, songwriter, actress, and TV presenter. She was born on May 10, 1979, in Osong-ri, Cheongwon County. In her youth she was scouted for a girl group, debuting as the leader of the pop girl group Fin.K.L in 1998. Fin.K.L's debut single "Blue Rain" and subsequent album To My Boyfriend (1998) proved successful, earning Lee Hyori a lot of attention. She decided to embark on a solo career, and in 2003 released her debut solo album Stylish...E, which sold over 150,000 copies in South Korea. In 2006, after signing a contract with Mnet Media, she became the highest-paid South Korean female singer. Around the same time, she also expanded her acting career, appearing in multiple TV dramas and films. That year, she released the album Dark Angel and later starred in a mini-drama If in Love... Like Them in 2007. The single "Toc Toc Toc," included in the series' soundtrack, reached number 1 on the local charts. Between 2008 and 2009, Lee Hyori hosted various TV programs and released her third studio album, It's Hyorish (2008). In 2010, her fourth full-length album H-Logic, marked her first entry into the Circle Albums Chart, peaking at number 15. "Swing" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," two of the LP's singles, soared to number 1 on the local charts. During this period, she also became known for her activism, particularly for animal rights. Monochrome, her fifth studio album, arrived in 2013, cracking the South Korean Top 10 and spawning the chart-topping singles "Miss Korea" and "Bad Girls." In 2015, she took a brief hiatus before returning in 2017 with Black, which hit number 9. In 2019, she reunited with Fin.K.L for a reality show, and in 2020, founded the trio SSAK3, which donated all proceeds from their promotions to communities in need. In 2021, Lee Hyori made history by becoming the first woman to host the Mnet Asian Music Awards solo. In 2023, she released the R&B influenced pop single "후디에 반바지."
