Lennon Stella has walked a winding path to her solo career that has taken her via a musical upbringing, viral YouTube hits and TV stardom. She was born in Ontario, Canada on 13th August 1999 to Brad and Marylynne Stella four years ahead of her younger sister Maisy. Brad and Marylynne perform together as country duo The Stellas and in 2009 appeared on short-lived TV talent show 'Can You Duet', placing fourth and garnering enough attention to get the record deal with EMI Music Canada that resulted in 2011's self-titled debut album. As their parents transitioned into their musical careers, Lennon and Maisy began making waves of their own. They were cast in NBC's country music drama 'Nashville' as Maddie and Daphne Conrad, daughters of the lead character Rayna James. Ahead of the show's 2012 launch the duo had a viral YouTube hit with a cover of Robyn's 'Call Your Boyfriend' which landed them on 'Good Morning America'. A few episodes into the series Lennon & Maisy performed 'Telescope', which featured on the first soundtrack album for the show. It was with their 'Nashville' performance of 'Ho Hey' by The Lumineers the following year, however, that Lennon & Maisy had their first hit in the Billboard Songs Top 40, landing in both the country and pop categories. From there they went on to amass more singles sales than any other performers from the show. By the fifth season Lennon had grown further as an artist and was gathering writing credits for the 'Nashville' soundtrack of her own, co-writing 'In Love', 'Saved', 'Clockwork', and 'Tennis Shoes' for the show. 2016 saw Lennon teaming up with Matt Scibilia for a festive cover of John Lennon's 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)'. She followed it up in 2017 with another seasonal duet, this time with Barns Courtney for 'Baby It's Cold Outside'. Following the end of 'Nashville' in 2018 Lennon moved straight into a solo career. She signed with Columbia Records and within a month of the show's final episode had released her first single, an acoustic version of 'Like Everybody Else'. She opened for Anne-Marie on her 2019 Speak Your Mind tour and released a collaborative single with The Chainsmokers and Illenium titled 'Takeaway'.
