Leony

Leony (born June 25, 1997 in Chammünster) is a pop singer and songwriter from Germany. The artist became better known in German-speaking countries in 2014 through the TV show Rising Star as part of the band Unknown Passenger. After the band broke up, the singer, born Leonie Burger, began her solo career. As a child, she learns piano and guitar. In 2016, Leony signed a record deal with Sony Music in Australia. The singer's debut single "Surrender" was released the following year. Further singles followed with the songs "Boots" and "More Than Friends". After her return to Germany in 2019, Leony worked on new music with Vitali Zestovskih as her new producer and manager. The first result is the single "Far Away from Home", a collaboration with the DJ duo Vize and Sam Feldt. The pop singer's breakthrough finally came in the summer of 2020 with a new interpretation of the song "Brother Louie", a hit by the band Modern Talking from the 1980s. Leony followed this up with another hit with the song "Paradise" (2020). It reached number 4 in Germany and number 2 in Austria. In 2021, Leony released the singles "Faded Love" and "No More Second Chances". In the same year, she receives the New Music Award for Breakthrough Female Artist of the Year. In 2022, Leony lands another hit and success in the German charts with the song "Remedy " at number 5 in Germany. Two more singles follow with "Stop the Word" and "Crazy Love". Leony starts 2023 with the release of her debut album Somewhere in Between. The album climbs to number 20 in Germany and reaches number 28 in Austria. In 2024, Leony sings "Fire", the official song for the European Football Championship, together with Meduza and OneRepublic. The single reaches number 29 and is followed in February 2025 by Leony's second studio album, Oldschool Love.
