Although they've been around since 2001, the Norwegian progressive metal band didn't really get going until 2009, once their line-up had stabilized. The wait was rewarded with the release of Tall Poppy Syndrome, an album praised in the genre's Landernau. Leprous took advantage of the opportunity to tour in 2010, supporting Therion. Although Bilateral fell a little short of this debut in 2011, Leprous set things right with the release of Coal in 2013. Particularly popular in the UK, Leprous released The Congregation in May 2015. They have since released four further albums, including Malina in 2017, Aphelion in 2021, and Melodies of Atonement in 2024.
