Quebec pop group, founded in 1961 in St-Hyacinthe, under the name Les Corvet's, then Les Artistocrates from 1963 to 1966, Les Motions in 1966 and Les Aristos in 1967 and 1968. In 1961, the group specialized in interpreting South American rhythms, releasing an album entitled Best Dance Party Vol.1 . In late summer 1963, the group took a break following an accident in which their van was a total loss. Les Artistocrates came to life in the following months, and the group entered a contest to take the Hou-Lops' place at the helm of the Bonsoir Copains TV show. In the end, the Sultans won, but they were offered a weekly show entitled 1, 2, 3... les Aristos . In 1965, the group released their first single, " Chère madame votre fille est très jolie ", an adaptation of a Herman's Hermits hit, as well as an original composition, " J'en suis jaloux ". In 1966, the band's biggest hit was " Ton visage maquillé de joie ". The following year, the group changed its name to Les Aristos. In 1968, they released their last single, " Les Fleurs de mandarines ", which introduced Michel Fugain to Quebec audiences. The group subsequently disbanded. They returned to the stage in 1993, at the Saint-Hyacinthe retro festival, under the name Les Anciens Membres. CD compilations of their greatest hits are released in 2000 and 2010.
