Black socks, metal bananas, Gordini dolphins: the 1960s saw a number of yéyé bands, often short-lived due to the young age of the musicians and their military obligations. Despite a number of successes, the Chaussettes Noires, somewhat erroneously described as "France's first rock band", did not survive their members' call-up for military service. The para-cut and the fatigues, stronger than the slicked-up banana and the perfecto... another idea of rock'n'roll!
