As its name suggests, Les Elles was originally a group of four female representatives, led from the outset by singer Pascaline Hervéet (vocals). Signed to a satellite label of Boucherie Productions, dear to François Hadji-Lazaro (Les Garçons Bouchers), the group released the album Les Elles (Made in Normandie) in 1995. Following a second album of the same name in 1997, the band underwent several changes, recording Pamela Peacemaker (2000) and Siamoises (2003). Pascaline Hervéet then presented her solo show Joseph, from which an album was released in 2009. After a change of musicians in 2010, Les Elles went their separate ways in 2012. The following year saw the release of the compilation Ah Si J'étais Riche, featuring two previously unreleased tracks.
