Lescop

Mathieu Peudupin, born in Châteauroux on November 2, 1978, joined French new-wave and post-punk band Asyl in 1995 as lead singer. After four albums, including 2005's Petits Cauchemars entre Amis , the band split up in 2011. The band's leader, who goes by Lescop or Mathieu Lescop, begins composing with Johnny Hostile, who forms the duo John & Jehn with his partner Jehnny Beth. He was signed to the couple's label, Pop Noire, and released his first solo album, Lescop, in 2012, led by the single "La Forêt ". Four years later, he put the finishing touches to his successor, Écho . Lescop returned to band life for a while with Serpent, defined by himself as post-funk. But in 2024, he resumed his solo activities, releasing Rêve Parti, a 13-track album featuring three collaborations with Izia, Halo Maud and Laura Cahen.
